Case Study for www.hipbaby.com
Since we switched to WebAlive, I have seen my business improve
drastically in the following areas:
Costs:
Prior to using WebAlive – the costs were approx $30 US per month
for use of a shopping cart tool and $30 CAD for hosting including
email – so our costs have been reduced. This does not include
the investment in purchasing Front Page software, which we bought
previously to build the site, which is around $300. We use the
mals-com payment option and process our transactions manually
through the credit card transaction service that we had
previously.
Increase in
Sales:
As far as the increase in sales – I would say that it is
probably double now what it was – so a 50% increase in transactions
dollars than it was in the previous year before getting
WebAlive. Of course our sales online are not huge…and amount
to a very small percentage of our business however the increase
even if it is as additional $ 1000 a month in sales is still
worthwhile.
Usage and
Functionality:
The statistical tool has allowed me to see that we were getting
a lot of referral hits from a directory site for our area…and based
on that I purchased some very inexpensive top spot advertising –
resulting in 20 times as many referrals just from that
directory.
We are in the top ten if you search hip baby (which is a pretty
common phrase these days) in any of the major search engines.
I have also found out some other useful info and been able to
tweak the site to ensure that we are up there with goggle and yahoo
not just for our name but for the brand names of some of the
products that we carry.
I find the tool very easy to use and have experience very few
problems – I would say that WebAlive Software is definitely easier
to use than how we did the site previously…which was me building
the site from scratch…

spend a huge amount of money on a site or for someone who has more
money to spend and wants customization…you can spend thousands of
dollars up front for something complex and still at the end of the
day not see much benefit from it. I would say that WebAlive

extensive research prior to switching to WebAlive and am very happy
with the choice. We are coming out ahead which is a necessity
especially for companies such as ours who do not have much of a
budget or manpower to deal with the web aspect of our
